Abeer Abdel Hamid Salem, PhD
Abeer Abdel Hamid Salem, PhD, is an experienced researcher, program developer and educator with many years of diverse professional experience in the fields of media, education and international development, sustainability and business management. She has contributed book chapters on leadership, indigenous entrepreneurship and sustainability; and conference papers on media literacy and media education. Abeer currently teaches development communication, international communication and research methods at October University for the Modern Sciences and Arts in Cairo, Egypt. Her current research focuses on media literacy, sustainable communities, and indigenous entrepreneurship and education. More of her interdisciplinary research interests include sustainability education, and environmental issues. Abeer is passionate about sustainability and indigenous communities, and gets her inspiration through connecting with nature.
Abubakar is a lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication, University of Maiduguri, Borno State in North-Eastern Nigeria. He has a Master Degree in Mass Communication (Print Journalism) from the UNESCO Centre for Excellence in Media and Cinematography, Department of Communication, University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos, Nigeria and a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Bayero University, Kano. Before joining the services of the University of Maiduguri, Abubakar worked as a reporter for the Daily Trust Newspaper. He reported from court, political parties and the Upper Chamber (The Senate) of the Nigeria’s National Assembly. Abubakar areas of research interest are political communication, social media, media and religion, journalism training and practice, audience reception, communication theory and cinematography analysis. He is currently working for his PhD on social media and elections in Nigeria.
